Sava Sara Brakada, AKA Xsara was born on 06-27-2004. She was raised in Kennel Brakada spending the first two months of her life on beautiful countryside Gorenjska (Slovenia) with her siblings and parents. As soon as she came to Ljubljana we started a puppy class, followed by an obedience class. She passed her B-bh exam with 96 points (instructor Agility EO winner Polona Bonač). We now continue with Rally-Obedience under Polona's supervision. Our biggest passion however is Agility. We started our first Agility class in October 2005 (club Agility Ilirija, instructor Silvia Trkman, two times agility world champion). When Silvia stopped teaching agility classes, we switched to Daša Zakotnik. We regularly participate in Agility trials in Slovenia and sometimes abroad. Xsara also loves to learn new dog tricks, you can see some of them in our videos. Her other passions include long walks, big meals and playing with dogs, specially her pyr shep sister Tani, her crazy agility pals and her sister Sena.

Little Furry Thief's Outing

We had another case of cleptomania this week. It was completely my fault because I left an opened baggy of dog treats on the counter and went to work. I don't know any dog who would resist such temptation. As you can see in the photo, Xsara felt extreme guilt after stealing and eating all of them. Lucky for me, it was a small bag this time so her tummy is fine.

This weekend we decided to go to Gorenjska, which is the part of Slovenia North from Ljubljana (it's where Xsara was born). We went to a very popular touristic destination - Bled, famous for the castle, the lake and the only island in Slovenia. One of the most interesting things for Xsara was being so close to the ducks. After the walk we went to visit my friend in Dovje and the countryside was so beautiful that I decided to make a slide show. If you want to know a little more about how Slovenia looks, just click here.

Apparently the "remix" function of Photobucket is experiencing some problems (and I'm never using it again), so if you can't open the film, you can see the pictures in an old-fashioned slideshow in my album - this version has no music and effects, but the pictures are the same.

We were out the whole day and Xsara was so tired that she went straight to bed. She is snoring incredibly loudly right now, apparently dreaming of something very interesting because she is barking in her sleep. Every time she goes to sleep because she is tired and not bored, I feel like a good Mom.

I bet you didn't have to eat your din dins after that...What a bootiful lake that is! We just came back from the trials last night. We're extremely exhausted! I didn't bring home anything but Faith & Chloe did. Will post about it soon.

Love licks,

I know exactly EXACTLY what you mean about feeling good when they are sleeping from being tired instead of bored! The lake is so lovely. I couldn't get the slide show to load, but I'll try again tomorrow on the faster computer.

(And the whippets say it was nice of you to leave the treats right there for Xsara!)

Hehe which doggie would resist all that treats :-) Glad she didn't have any tummy upset this time around.

That's a beautiful lake.

Yes it would be hard for any dog to resist an bag of treats. Lucky it was a small one. Sounds like you two had a very nice day out together. Xsara is looking very intently at those ducks, I wonder what she was thinking?
We are still trying to see the slide show but may have to try again later.

I'm so glad you didn't get a tummy ache after eating those treats - and your mum is right no dog would ever be able to resist something like that!!

Jan and I keep saying that we should pack up and move to Slovenia. You have the most amazing landscapes, right on your doorstep.

And the view from your friend's window? If that was the view from my window, I'd never sleep!

You're incredibly lucky having such varied landscape at your disposal.

Always love seeing and watching what you guys are up to. :)

we think that Xsara is secretly practicing her tricks while you are away and she gives herself a treat each time she does one successfully :-)

And we loved the slide show. Your country is very beautiful.

We LOVED seeing your slideshow - it worked great for us! Slovenia is just gorgeous! Except maybe for that scary cat picture! :)
