Sava Sara Brakada, AKA Xsara was born on 06-27-2004. She was raised in Kennel Brakada spending the first two months of her life on beautiful countryside Gorenjska (Slovenia) with her siblings and parents. As soon as she came to Ljubljana we started a puppy class, followed by an obedience class. She passed her B-bh exam with 96 points (instructor Agility EO winner Polona Bonač). We now continue with Rally-Obedience under Polona's supervision. Our biggest passion however is Agility. We started our first Agility class in October 2005 (club Agility Ilirija, instructor Silvia Trkman, two times agility world champion). When Silvia stopped teaching agility classes, we switched to Daša Zakotnik. We regularly participate in Agility trials in Slovenia and sometimes abroad. Xsara also loves to learn new dog tricks, you can see some of them in our videos. Her other passions include long walks, big meals and playing with dogs, specially her pyr shep sister Tani, her crazy agility pals and her sister Sena.

Beagle Puppies!

Today I went to visit Xsara's breeder, who has a pack of beagle puppies. Xsara didn't come with me because we didn't want to upset their mother. These puppies are not related to Xsara, they have totally different parents, just the breeder is the same. They were so cute, I made a lot of pictures and some videos. You can see some of the pictures here, I will add more of them as soon as possible. I would take home all of them! But it's not the right time for me to get another puppy yet. One day Xsara will get a baby sister, but I still have so much work with her that I couldn't handle another puppy right now with the diploma and work and everything. But someday definitely!

Oh, are they cute!

Adding to the family is a big decision for sure, I know because we went through it. You are smart for paying attention to your situation and waiting, despite the fact these little ones are painfully darling!

Training is one area where I find splitting my attention between two and really spending quality time with each of them individually the biggest challenge. When we just had Diesel we went to a tricks class and I taught him lots of tricks in and out of class. Although I've been doing agility with Marvin, I haven't spent the same time with him with tricks. It's a regret and something I want to do more of with both of them but individual time is sometimes tricky when the other also wants in on the fun!

I know from what you've told me, and also from seeing what you and Xsara have accomplished that tricks is the best thing I can do for our relationship and their focus. Plus, as you've said it's fun! I just need to do it. Doesn't help that it's the longest winter ever with tons of snow and bitter temperatures ... can't train outside now!

Oh well! We'll get there!

Were all the puppies tri-color?

OMG! I want one - but just for the day so I don't have to go through the potty training and all that stuff! If you keep visiting, you're gonna wind up with a new puppy sooner than you think!

Oh, they're sooo stinking cute!!! I bet they all smelled like milk...I'm sure Xsara would love to have another companion in her life. It is a lot of work taking care of dogs but still, they're not as much work as taking care of kids according to my mommy. But puppies ya know, they can be quite a handful & you really need time for it & for Xsara too. But I think it is a great idea to get a sister for Xsara & then Xsara can teach her all the tricks you've taught her...

I don't think our mom could have gone to just "visit" the puppies without bringing at least one home! :) You're VERY strong.
How very adorable they are! Thanks for sharing the album!
