Sava Sara Brakada, AKA Xsara was born on 06-27-2004. She was raised in Kennel Brakada spending the first two months of her life on beautiful countryside Gorenjska (Slovenia) with her siblings and parents. As soon as she came to Ljubljana we started a puppy class, followed by an obedience class. She passed her B-bh exam with 96 points (instructor Agility EO winner Polona Bonač). We now continue with Rally-Obedience under Polona's supervision. Our biggest passion however is Agility. We started our first Agility class in October 2005 (club Agility Ilirija, instructor Silvia Trkman, two times agility world champion). When Silvia stopped teaching agility classes, we switched to Daša Zakotnik. We regularly participate in Agility trials in Slovenia and sometimes abroad. Xsara also loves to learn new dog tricks, you can see some of them in our videos. Her other passions include long walks, big meals and playing with dogs, specially her pyr shep sister Tani, her crazy agility pals and her sister Sena.

Beagle Doggy Tricks Part 1

We finally filmed the first part of Xsara's tricks! She didn't give her best performance because it was very hot, but it's OK.

Oh, and we had a trial in Portorož on Saturday. This trial is a little different because it's in night-time since it gets too hot for the dogs during the day. The Italian judge put together interesting courses and Xsara overcame them very well resulting in her achieving the 1st place. The names of our this year's team members were also published during the event. Xsara and I are proud to congradulate them!

A Trial And A Seminar With Gwyn Roberts

On Saturday's trial in Ljubljana we had the assistant of the selector of British team Gwyn Roberts as the judge. The courses on first level were easy, but very different from ours on A2/J2 and A3/J3 levels. The rules inEngland are a little different - larger distance between the obstacles, other course dimensions and so on. Anyway, Xsara did well, she was a little faster this time but missed another contact and even dropped a bar (weird). We were still 2nd because many teams were disqualified. On sunday the judge held a seminar but Xsara was still very tired and couldn't perform best. I let her sleep after the seminar.

New Members Of Our Family

Our dear cat Micy crossed the Rainbow Bridge a while ago. The house felt very empty without her so my mom and sister Katja decided we should give home to another cat in it. That's how our family gained two new members - brother and sister Mic and Tačka. Xsara took the news well, but I wouldn't trust her to babysit them. The kittens were very curious about her. I think they will become good friends!

Check out my Slide Show!

Well, on Saturday's trial we also managed to catch the caugh that has been going around in our Club. We immedeately went to the vet so the disease hasn't spread yet. But we're back on antibiotics and cuddling in the warm bed. The only danger would be if it would develop in pneumonia but we came in early enough. Otherwise we were 2nd but I'm not too impressed by our performance because I thought she was going slow and she missed a contact. But she was happy to run, which is the most important part. We had a Norwegian judge.
The Birthday Pawty was great, the whole playground was looking at us like we were mad because we had dog cake??? As if they'd never seen one of those ...
